F-word has just made it’s presence felt …. nice, very nice.
Yes, I am a hypocrite
I don’t think it’s quite as devastating as it sounds but ….. we have a client in the office at the moment and he swears …. a LOT!
Generally, I don’t have a problem with a bit of swearing …. I’m partial to the odd b*s4&%d and B(the word the English don’t like) myself (I am an Aussie after all, cut a girl some slack!) and will launch into something a little stronger if strong emotions are roused …. so I don’t know that I really have the right to have a problem with this man …
BUT …
usually, I find, most people get to know the new situation they’ve walked into, or the new people they’re talking with, before f’ing and blinding (not that he’s using the f-word … yet!) ….
I guess he’s just used to ‘manly men’ talking that way in his particular industry ….
I don’t know …
He’s obviously not bright enough to realise that the BroBoss is NOT swearing while they’re talking and take the hint ……
Am I being hypocritical? Or just precious?
blarg! and arg! and *!@*%rg!

Sorry, having a problem with other people’s stuffups today, I’m sure it will all be better after I’ve made myself a cup of tea!
Picked up a new pair of shoes yesterday … a black version of the green and silver Diana Ferrari flatties mentioned earlier in this blog – very comfy … now contemplating getting the brown ones … but will investigate the discount store that Pam told me about before making that purchase!
Hopefully will have an industrious evening, clearing out the garage and moving things about … was going to head out again with the secateurs again this arvo (council green waste pickup on Monday) but it poured this morning and not really into wet pruning! I was really getting into it yesterday too, a bit disappointed really … hopefully I can get to that again tomorrow.
That’s it really ….
of shopping and swimming pools …

Did I mention I’m in love? Just wanted to put it out there again … I’m just slightly excited about it
anyhoo ….
The weather is getting progressively cooler at night though still managing to hit 30C during the day, which is great, but means the pool temperature is starting to head downwards. It’s been pretty much stuck on 26C for the last 3 months which is lovely for wallowing but not so great for doing laps … and when you have a backyard pool that’s long enough to do laps in it’s very hard to resist … so I am pleased on the one hand that the temp is now down to 22C, which is a fabulous lap swimming temp, but a little sad on the other, as it means that summer is drawing to a close. Autumn and Spring are my favourite seasons, and I just revel in the beautiful bright days, cool breezes and nippy nights, but this Summer has been very special so it’s a little sad to see it leave.
That said, next Summer is going to be very special too, so I guess i should keep looking forward with anticipation.
As for the shopping … well, there were no shoes involved (except the ones I was wearing of course … green, flat, very comfy!) but I did have a lot of fun in IKEA on Sunday! 50% off! EXCELLENT! I have had my eye on some beautiful fabric for about 12 months now and, because i wanted to buy quite a lot of it, I’ve been holding off and moaning about it to The Valkyrie (my usual IKEA shopping partner) … so Sunday, with 50% off, I bought 15metres! Now I just have to summon up the motivation to do the chair covering and slip cover making ….. ah well, it’s gorgeous and it’s mine, I guess I can give myself a day or two to just look at it!
Back to work, the BroBoss has given himself a long weekend and I am archiving at a furious rate – very satisfying!
So Long, Farewell, Auf Weidersehn etc …

The boys are leaving home (sniff) they have found a house and are packing their bags and moving out (woohoo!). It’s a little weird actually, they’ve been lovely house guests, you couldn’t find four more polite, obliging, just plain lovely young men, but I’m not going to be too upset to see them move out. I think all four of the girls would agree that yes, our house is large, spacious, there is room for all, you can actually go a few days without seeing someone at all, etc etc etc … but 9 people is just too many, no matter how useful around the house the extra four are.
I am counting down the days (23 sleeps) until Good Friday, when I head to Tasmania, to spend time with my gorgeous man and (big breath) meet the family …..
To be honest, I’m not worried about meeting the family … I’m flat out positive that my extended family is far weirder than his so there’s nothing to worry about!
It has been a completely bizarre day …. really!
So far it’s gone like this ….
10pm Monday night the gas hammer starts on the roadworks below my house …. they’re resurfacing the road and bridge … in a harbour valley …. and it echoes … loudly … A LOT!!!!
Various beeps, tweeps, clangs, bashes and other noises continue throughout the night. Miss Lisa is not a happy girl Tuesday morning.
Tuesday morning
6am I have bags under my eyes. I NEVER have bags under my eyes. I am NOT HAPPY!
7am Turn on the news to see that Innisfail (Nth Queensland) has not had a good time during the Category 5 Cyclone … basically, it’s pretty much flat … and there will be no Australian bananas for a little while. On the up side, nobody was killed or seriously injured, thank you God.
8:10am leave for 15min drive to work … doing well, have not walked into a doorway as yet, a sign that I’m not as tired as I feel.
9:10am arrive at work …. yes that’s right, an HOUR later
9:15am reminding oneself that it’s just a long drive to work, I still have my house, my car, my job …. get over myself please!
10:20 Deeleea emails with invitation to important ceremony at 12noon, to which I reply I will be there! … …..
11:15 receive phone call. Caller: Are you open today? Miss Lisa: Yes C: How many girls do you have working today? ML: (thinking comment slightly odd) who’s calling please? C: My name is Sam … actually, I’m Sam’s cousin he comes in all the time. ML: (with rest of office pricking up ears) Who do you think you’re calling? C: An escort agency … do I have the wrong number? ML: (calmly) yes you do, goodbye ….
11:30 Miss Lisa leaves office to enjoy ceremony (through gritted teeth if necessary)
1:30 Miss Lisa returns to office, having enjoyed ceremony greatly, highly amused by antics of children belonging to various participants, and intends to have a good NORMAL day for the rest of the day – PLEASE GOD!!!!
Thank you …. I will now go and eat some chocolate.

I hate dial-up… not too thrilled the telecommunications industry … and REALLY hate my dad’s keyboard, it bites!!!! Other than that, I’m having a lovely time down here … actually that should be up here as it’s 700m above sea level … though it is ‘down south’ in terms of Australia’s coastline… the world is a very confusing place!
My jump on the traffic on friday didn’t really pan out as there was a crash which blocked 2 south bound lanes on the Harbour Bridge, and then a very very nasty crash on one of the main routes out of Sydney which delayed us all greatly … instead of 1 1/2 hrs it took 2 1/2 … but I talked to a few people (yay for mobile phones!) and listened to talkback, so not too bad I guess… and well worth the drive. Coming down on a Thursday has causedmy parents great confusion (sorry about words running together, see keyboard comment above!) usually I’m here on a Friday hence the nextday is Saturday …but not this time! Very funny … doesn’t take much to keep me amused really
Gorgeous AUtumn highlands day tomorrow, hope it’s like this for the ANZAC Wibmeet in April … absolutely glorious, sun, acool breeze, phenomenal blue skies, fabulous!
Today is overcast and a little chilly so will haul out the jeans (yikes!)… it will be the first time I’ve had them on since NOvember … I’m hoping for good news in the ‘fit’ dept … having been getting myself fit and healthy since 010106… hopefully there will a little bit of room… or maybe even a lot! That would be GREAT
I really can’t tell how things are going on the scale,’cause I only weigh myself at mum’s and I have a habit of building muscle at a great rate (one of the reasons I don’t do weights …. weightlifter is not a look I aspire to!) so, as muscle weights heavier than fat, the scales are not always as encouraging as one would wish them to be – fit of clothes is a much better indicator. I am overly endowed in a number of depts (not that I really mind) (well upholstered Deeleea would call it) with broad shoulders and a very strong build and I like that but the family ‘arse and a half’(apologies
but that’s what it’s called!) could do with some reduction! Ah well, keep walking and swimming … I may even check out the local bike shop today on my seemingly never ending quest fora bike helmet that doesn’t make me look like an idiot!
Okay, enough drivel… off to do something constructive … maybe some pruning for dad… though I still smell likea lamb roast after pruning the rosemary hedge yesterday …….
Running away …..

to the country
…. no, not Tasmania! This time anyway!
I’m heading down to the parents place in the beeyootiful Southern Highlands, I have Friday and Monday off work, and I’m going to thoroughly enjoy it! Especially after spending nearly two hours in the Manly Court House this afternoon ….
Not on my behalf I might add, chasing a scummy client …. boy oh boy, I’d hate to have something complicated to do, mine was a very simple for with a very simple process …. I sent the BroBoss an SMS that said "the court house … where office managers go to die!" …. I couldn’t work out why I was disliking it so much, it’s just an office basically, nothing to write home about, people working away etc and then it hit me …. it’s like the library back at uni … no noise except keyboards … hardly any talking, and the talking their was was very quiet, no radio … deathly quiet! aaaarrrrgggghhhhh, get me outta there!
Anyway, that’s done, and I’m going to nick off from work early to get a jump on the traffic, seeing as I didn’t get an actual lunch break! I did manage to eat a bit of the leftover Moroccan Pizza from my expedition last night with Yay and Deeleea – mmmm yummy!
Yes, we bravely headed into the wilds of Chatswood (very bravely, seeing as a fourth victim of Legionnaires Disease was announced today and the only connection they all have is shopping in Chatswood!) and investigated the Gourmet Pizza Kitchen (to which I will be returning) and Gelatissimo (which I resisted … but will be investigating more deeply because my resistance did not prevent me trying a little bit of Deeleea’s raspberry Gelato … Oh My Goodness, heaven in a dixie cup!)
On my return home, before calling my gorgeous man, I checked on the flatmates … 6 of whom were watching the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in the loungeroom .. actually, the watching was in the loungeroom, not the Opening Ceremony …. man, I did the highest level of English at High School, and you really just can’t tell at all can you! I’m actually going to miss the boys when they leave, they’re proving to be excellent house guests, very well trained, even if they are all immensely tall and walking into the kitchen feels like entering the Land of the Giants when they’re all in there.
Prayer and Laughter
15/03/2006
Are a good combination I think
. Sorry if that bothers anyone, but I quite like having a laugh with God, finding the amusing, the hilarious, in the everyday … I mean, come on, He created the squid! There’s definitely a sense of humour there
Anyhoo, the reason for the laughter was brought about by prayer .. not my prayer, the prayer of the four lovely lads who are living on the bottom floor of my house at present. They are four students from the Bible College/College of Creative Arts which Deeleea has referred to before (operates from our rather large church) and they have not been able to find accommodation (!) ’til now. Apparently they viewed a house yesterday which they really loved and, being the good boys that they are, immediately came home and set to prayin’ …. loudly and passionately
The funny part comes in when you remember that The Man Magnet is not a Christian … and she’s the one who’s floor they’ve been living on …. and she came home just as I was walking upstairs …. The Diva and I were practically in tears of laughter ourselves picturing her face as she walked down the stairs ……
I met her again as I went down and she came up, as it were ….. a little wide eyed, a little, no actually a lot gobsmacked …. but pretty impressed that they were really going for it.
The last 10 days have certainly been an eye opener for her
Honestly, I would have paid good money to have seen her face as she came down the stairs …..

Just hooning through to add a couple of wiblinks. I find myself in a strangely organising mood/mode at the moment, finishing jobs, organising other jobs, straightening things out, putting things away, getting rid of others, cleaning up files, making notes of address, websites, wiblinks etc …. I wonder what’s brought that on? ![]()
